Do the Stars Align for Elizabeth and Nathan in Episode 1?

Recent photos and previews have left fans buzzing with anticipation for the premiere of When Calls the Heart. Hearties have worked diligently to piece together clues as to the order of events that will unfold in episode one and based on the provided clues, here is my prediction of how things will unfold for Nathan and Elizabeth in episode 1 titled “When Stars Align.”

What we know – The episode begins with Nathan riding back to Hope Valley and Elizabeth sees him approaching outside of her house. What we don’t know – Did they have a conversation at this moment?

What we know – Nathan likely then rides into town and is greeted by Allie. What we don’t know – Was Elizabeth there to see the interaction between dad and daughter?

What we know – Elizabeth and Rosemary decide to do some gardening at the back of their homes. This is likely the same day as when Nathan arrives home because Elizabeth is in the same shirt. Nathan visits with the ladies. Elizabeth tells Nathan she is glad to see him. He stumbles as he leaves and Rosemary keenly observes both Elizabeth’s and Nathan’s reaction to seeing each other. After Nathan leaves, Elizabeth confesses that she would like to change her hair and Rosemary thinks it is a brilliant idea. What we don’t know – How did Nathan get there? And, what else did they talk about?

What we know – Nathan has a conversation with Bill and Rosemay about the investigation that he just wrapped up out of town. Something about the investigation doesn’t sit right with Bill, and Rosemary decides to involve herself as well. What we don’t know – We don’t know what the investigation was about.

What we know – Elizabeth confides to Rosemary that she is excited about the infinite possibilities that are ahead. Likely on that same day, Elizabeth teaches a science lesson involving the planets. What we don’t know – We don’t know if the science lesson happens before or after Elizabeth talks to Rosemary and we don’t know if either of these moments are before or after Nathan’s chat with Bill and Rosemary at the saloon. I would guess that Rosemary and Elizabeth talk in the morning given their past morning conversations.

What we know – Rosemary cuts Elizabeth’s hair. Back at the saloon, everyone is stunned as Elizabeth walks in with her new haircut. Nathan turns to see her and immediately tells her how great she looks. What we don’t know – We don’t know why everyone is at the saloon and what other interaction happens between Elizabeth and Nathan.

What we know – Elizabeth and Nathan are on a front porch looking up at the sky. They are sitting close. Elizabeth remarks how beautiful it is and Nathan is looking at Elizabeth as he agrees that “it” is beautiful. Elizabeth catches him watching her out of the corner of her eye and turns to look at him as he gazes back up to the sky. They are likely watching Jupiter and Saturn align in the sky, which is a rare occurence and a sight to see. What we don’t know – We don’t know how they got there. Did Nathan walk her home? Is Allie watching Little Jack? Are they on her front porch? What else is said and is the end of the episode?

A seemingly innocent stargazing moment on likely Elizabeth’s porch reveals hidden emotions and unspoken desires between her and Nathan, leaving viewers eagerly awaiting the next episode to see where the story will lead. With many unanswered questions and potential plot twists on the horizon, the drama in Hope Valley continues to captivate audiences, promising more excitement and surprises to come.
