Interviews

What did Kevin McGarry reveal to Sarah and Julie at Suspenders Unbuttoned about Season 11?

  • We will see Scout again. Nathan is becoming a dog dad.
  • You still get to see some Nathan and Bill stuff, but Bill has his hands full with a partnership that is not one you would expect. It works, but it is surprising. (We now know this is Rosemary.)
  • Starting to take action and starting to move forward (running away from fear or leaving fear behind) could be a theme for the season.
  • Lucas is not flattened by a car.
  • You might see a bit more of life circumstances that bring Elizabeth and Nathan together.
  • There is Mountie stuff in 11. Particularly, a pretty great Mountie climactic thing. (Nathan’s kind of got his own storyline going on in 11, but there is an event.)
  • There is a whole new story other than the hotsprings, but they don’t go anywhere.
  • There are a lot of treats and Easter eggs in the season for those who have been with the show for so long. (We now know there is an Easter episode #4).
  • We get to put some faces to people we haven’t seen yet.
  • We will see in 11 where Nathan’s headspace is.
  • There is more to Nathan’s story regarding singing that comes up in 11.
  • Maybe: Hargrave and Fort Clay MAY come back up.

What did Erin Krakow reveal to Deidre Behar at ET about Season 11?

  • “There’s just maybe something else happening in Elizabeth’s heart that she can’t quite deny as much as she once tried.”
  • Lucas’ political route will be explored more, but he will also be involved in Hope Valley.
  • We should still hold out hope that Nathan and Elizabeth might give it a go. They take their time at this, but it is really important that Elizabeth have love in her life and they are on this journey.
  • EK does see a world where Elizabeth and Nathan end up together.
  • We find out early on what happened to Lucas.
  • The Nathan and Elizabeth journey is a bit slower, but they’ll be dropping hints as much as they can.

What did Brian Bird reveal to James Lott Jr. at JLJ Media about Season 11?

  • If we are happy with the Mei and Hickam pairing, then we will love S11.
  • There will be some surprises for Fiona in S11. Never bet against the ladies.
  • There is no path forward if Elizabeth leaves Hope Valley. It’s her whole purpose to be there. She has become what Abigail was to Hope Valley.
  • There are more weddings to come, for sure. (speaking past S11)
  • Brian describes S11 as “resolution, romance, less gravitas.”
  • There is a wedding in S11.
  • There’s more levity.
  • **At that time, we believed it was the right, but later on we realized, maybe it wasn’t the right thing. Especially in matters of the heart. Once you put a ring on the finger it is til death do us part. If you’re going to make that commitment it needs to be the right thing.

What did Brian Bird have to say to Kristyn Burtt Soaps She Knows about Season 11?

  • There won’t be a love triangle. It doesn’t mean there won’t be residue from the awkwardness and challenges of what happened in Season 10. The decision points are very clear from Season 10.
  • People should look for clues from the past regarding the cliffhanger for Lucas. There are echoes from the past in his storyline.
  • The Bill and Madeline storyline opened Bill up to a lot more possibility in his life, in a good way.
  • Brian is not going to say that Mike and Mei are the couple with the wedding we have been hearing about, but there is a future with these two. The sparks in Season 10 bode nicely in Season 11 for these two.
  • His response about Abigail came purely from his hope and dreams. It’s been his hope for her to be back on the show. We’ve opened doors for that story and Hallmark has allowed that in that past. There are no conversations that are happening about it now.
  • There are conversations about Season 12.

What did Kevin McGarry have to say on Heart to Hearties about Season 11?

  • There is a bit more singing in Nathan’s future. (A very Edelweiss scene, Captain Von Trapp). It is secret. He doesn’t know he’s being watched.
  • There is a music heavy episode in 11. It has some fun callbacks.
  • We do see more of Bill and Nathan in 11, but Nathan has his hands full with another storyline.
  • There is a new dynamic with Bill. A person you wouldn’t think would team up with him. (Rosemary – we learn in another article.)
  • There is a very emotional scene in 11.
  • Nathan’s heart gets bigger in season 11.
  • Moving forward, Nathan is going to have a big part in Elizabeth’s life.
  • Elizabeth and Nathan are going to come to terms with some feelings that weren’t fully thought about or dealt with in the past.
  • There will be BIG growth between Nathan and Allie’s relationship in 11. Allie has a great story in 11 and it brings Nathan and Allie closer together.
  • Nathan has a big impact, along with a couple others, on Little Jack in 11. The town comes to help Elizabeth with him. Nathan and LJ’s bond strengthens in 11, but so does a lot of the town’s people.
  • There’s a couple of surprising moments that Nathan gets in 11.
  • Nathan’s mom does come up in conversation in Season 11. We won’t see her in Season 11, but she is involved a bit with the Allie storyline.
  • There will be some characters return that we’ve seen before but have changed now.

What did Ben Rosenbaum and Amanda Wong have to say on Heart to Hearties about Season 11?

  • Mike and Mei will continue their musical talent in Season 11, not necessarily the big duet though.
  • They couldn’t answer regarding Mike’s family visiting and Ben said, “maybe that’s a hint.”
  • Mei and Hickham continue together. Again, maybe that’s a hint.
  • Some months have passed between Season 10 and Season 11.
  • They did go on that date in the off season.
  • There’s a moment in S11 where everything feels very right for one moment. (Amanda’s perspective)

What did Brian Bird reveal to Love and Lattes about Season 10? (just so we know where these two stand going into S11)

  • Lucas and Elizabeth had to go through what they did to realize they aren’t right for each other.
  • We really feel like all roads point to this conclusion.

What did Entertainment Tonight reveal?

Poster
  • The upcoming season, which will explore renewal and redemption, will follow Elizabeth as she gets a fresh start, complete with romance, challenges and new style. Elizabeth and Nathan’s storyline will continue, as they’ll navigate their growing romantic feelings while also leaning on each other amid parenting obstacles.
  • Lucas must confront his past in order to lead Hope Valley into the future, while Bill and Rosemary team up to unravel a mystery putting their entire community at risk.

What did Lindsay Sturman reveal to Sarah and Julie at Suspenders Unbuttoned Podcast about Season 11?

  • Lucas becomes this person of such substance in taking on so much for the town and being a leader.
  • Scout shows up again.

What did Andrea Brooks reveal to Sarah and Julie at Suspenders Unbuttoned Podcast about Season 11?

  • Faith still has hope for love.
  • There are a few new things coming fashion-wise for Faith.
  • Faith has some touching stuff coming up that you’ve never seen from her before.
  • Stayed tuned for possibly more meddling from Florence.
  • Andrea’s word for S11 is “emergency” and she doesn’t think anyone else will use that as their easter egg.

What did Erin Krakow share with Entertainment Tonight’s Deidre Behar?

  • Lucas and Elizabeth weren’t meant to be each other’s lifetime.
  • It’s a slow burn for Nathan and Elizabeth.
  • You feel the sparks the first time they see each other.
  • We’re building to something that is going to be very loving and passionate.
  • Nathan gets a kiss.
  • It would be really disappointing if Nathan and Elizabeth didn’t kiss.
  • The four of them together does happen. It’s very sweet. (Jack, Allie, Nathan, Elizabeth)
  • E’s relationship with Lucas was “safe.” Over GREAT love.
  • Elizabeth feels she can have that great love with Nathan.
  • They were endgame and always meant to be together. She just needed her time.

What did Lindsay Sturman and Beth Stewart say to TV Insider?

  • Small steps to see where they want to go.
  • We spent a lot of time digging into her Elizabeth’s heart. What is her heart saying to her?
  • There were many, many conversations about how their kiss should unfold. They wanted to “get it right.” This phrase comes up later on screen between Rosemary and Elizabeth. (my notes).
  • They are building their relationship on a really solid footing.
  • The investigation will carry us through most of the season.
  • Enough of his memory comes back to Lucas.
  • Life lesson: Lucas has to take care of the old business.

What did Kevin McGarry and Erin Krakow reveal to Deidre Behar about Season 11?

  • They are giving Nathan and Elizabeth a chance.
  • They are in for a treat!
  • Kevin confirmed Elizabeth’s entrance with her haircut. It’s like a new beginning. She’s coming out of her cocoon.
  • We see more of Nathan in Season 11 than we ever have before.
  • Nathan is either working out or there is a shirtless scene.
  • Nathan was created for Elizabeth.
  • Kevin feels that Nathan and Elizabeth were meant to be endgame. They are “Notebook” endgame.
  • We are still going to see the situation played out honestly between Nathan, Elizabeth and Lucas.
  • The Lucas character has a bit more edge to him now. When you are not partnered up with the #1 you can find out more about who Lucas is and was. Kevin thinks it’s the most interesting Lucas ever on the show.
  • We continue to see Nathan and Elizabeth help each other out in parenting. They come together to help each other raise their kids.
  • Allie wants to go see her dad and Nathan let’s her go. But, she gets heartbroken and Nathan and Elizabeth are there to comfort her.
  • The long term is always to tell a great story, to tell a long story. This was the decision.
  • He really thinks the show is moving to a beautiful place.

What did Chris McNally reveal to Deidre Behar about Season 11?

  • Lucas is still heartbroken. He wants her to be in her most happiest state.
  • He would rather have her around as a friendship than not at all.
  • He’s very focused as Governor.
  • Lucas doesn’t remember anything after he smacked his head and lost his memory.
  • We see his recovery. It takes a bit, but he recovers well. Elizabeth, Jack, Edwin…all provide support. Lucas is not by himself.
  • He had to sell the saloon–conflict of interest. He feels a little bit unfloating and unsure.
  • Hope Valley has had a big impact on him and he is happy there.
  • He is supposed to maintain office in Capital City.
  • While he and Elizabeth talked about her not wanting to move to CC, ultimately that was not the heart of the matter. :) (get it?)
  • There are some things that cause him to end up back in HV to take care of some problems.
  • Lucas has reached the top of the mountain in his fight for Elizabeth, takes a step back, and wants her to be happy.
  • Nice tender moments where he talks to both Elizabeth and Nathan pursuing something if they want to.
  • Lucas approaches the situation maturely, but there are certain things that Nathan witnesses and takes out of context that he is struggling with.
  • Lucas has always known there is an attraction there between N and E. He’s not shocked. In fact, he’s anticipating it and expecting it.
  • There isn’t anything romantic for Lucas in 11. His focus is on Hope Valley and saving it. The way things are shifting. He’s getting hammered from all directions. Romance is too soon right now.
  • Jeanette comes to visit and she may or may not be a poor old widow. Lucas may have left a few details out his connection to Jeanette. Elizabeth’s reaction is an aspect to 11.
  • He feels like they’ve finally hit the “endgame” as they say with Nathan and Elizabeth. There was one last twist in this love story.

What did Johannah Newmarch have to say on Heart to Hearties?

  • The choir thing continues in Season 11.
  • No update on Bill and Molly.
  • The ensemble cast is the strongest in Season 11 as the sort of support staff contributors to some of the primary storylines (a particular storyline or a particular romance). Coming together in times of joy and in times of trouble.
  • Molly and Florence got to play that role a lot in Season 11.
  • She likened the season to trail mix when picking a snack to compare it to.

What did Erin Krakow have to say on Heart to Hearties?

  • Allie has a story, later this season, that is very moving.
  • It’s not going to take a rocket scientist to see what is happening between Elizabeth and Nathan.
  • We learn more about Gowen’s psyche this season.
  • Joseph and Gowen connect.
  • Nathan and Elizabeth’s love story is a gentle, “love comes softly”, grown-up love story.
  • We are getting some returning characters in Season 11. (guest roles)
  • The Nathan shirtless scene comes up again. wink…
  • Lucas and Elizabeth’s relationship turns into one of friendship and mutual respect. She’s a champion for him.
  • Lucas has an idea and he asks for Elizabeth’s support because it affects her.
  • Lucas shows the most change or development as a character in S11. Growth, emotions, personal complications…

What did Lindsay Sturman and Beth Steward have to say on Heart to Hearties?

  • There’s no reason that Fiona can’t come back to Hope Valley.
  • Faith is going to be a caregiver to Lily. (no timeline given)
  • They are aware they need new little kids coming through, while still remember storylines for our older kids.
  • Allie and Nathan has a storyline that starts to percolate midway through the season and it’s one of Lindsay’s favorite stories on WCTH ever. (Jaeda has an amazing season.)
  • Mike and Mei have little conflicts that might pay off.
  • Stars Aligning is going to be carried throughout the season.
  • Goldie speaks her first words – classified; Jeanette shows up – hit; We hear from Henry about his visit with Abigail – hit; Nathan does some shirtless woodchopping – nearing a hit; Henry goes to work for Lucas – classified; Tom marries Julie – classified; Fiona makes an appearance in HV – classified; The Nathan and Elizabeth kiss comes in the first half of the season – HIGHLY classified;

What did Erin Krakow have to say to TV Insider?

  • That moment on the steps is maybe the first moment in Season 11 when Elizabeth wonders “oh, did he just look at me” when Nathan called the planets beautiful.
  • It’s a bit of a dance. They have such a history that no one wants to make any assumptions and they don’t want to damage a friendship that they worked really hard to build…just in the off chance that they are misreading.
  • Elizabeth wants best for Lucas and a friendship. We aren’t going near a triangle, but it does complicate things that they are in the same town.
  • Faith really struggles with how Mei and Fiona’s lives have changed.
  • Faith relies on friends to help (and childcare).
  • EK wishes that her and Pascale had more scenes together in S11, but Rosemary has this incredible arc as almost like buddy cops with Bill Avery. But, there are some nice moments between Elizabeth and Rosemary and their children.
  • Elizabeth’s main story is this discovery of what might still be there with Nathan. Did she ruin her chance?
  • She is in active teacher mode – Toby and fractions.
  • There is an intense episode with a returning guest that is going to be incredibly challenging for Elizabeth.
  • There’s more singing and family.

What did Erin Krakow have to say Pop Culture Principle?

  • For both Nathan and Elizabeth they are both being optimistic, but cautious. It’s a big step for a woman at that time to put herself back out there and build that confidence. Nathan thinks he’s picked up on a vibe, but he’s not sure. Slow burn. They best kind of burn.
  • It will be interesting to see how Nathan and Lucas navigate their friendship.
  • Yes, the fact that they have common ground with their kids will bring Nathan and Elizabeth together. They have deep conversations about parenting, children and growth, etc. and they lean on each other that way. Being single parents may slow them down a bit, and things with their children may come up that slow their romantic progress down.
  • We are so moving away from a triangle. There is something for both guys. Lucas and what’s new for him and Nathan and getting to experience love.
  • EK doesn’t know of any plans to bring Lori back. Abigail isn’t in S11. She would love to work with her again.

What did Kevin McGarry have to say to TV Insider?

  • Nathan will be a little trepidatious moving forward after seeing Lucas back in town.
  • Nathan thinks something might be happening with Elizabeth but he’s not sure.
  • Nathan doesn’t want to ruin anything with Elizabeth by saying the wrong thing.
  • It will be Bill and Rosemary that really play into the investigation, not Nathan. His hands are tied. He gives as much as he can without crossing the line.
  • Just when he thinks he’s opened his heart up to the perfect party it’s crushed…so he thinks.
  • Nathan doesn’t have as much to worry about with Lucas as he thinks he does. But, things might get a bit messy.
  • Near the end…there’s a big episode with Nathan and Allie. There’s a lot of good stuff with Nathan and Allie this season. Nathan really tries to help her out and she doesn’t see it at that. Elizabeth is a big part of helping out with this.
  • Nathan does eventually move into some Mountie business, but not at the beginning.
  • There’s a lot of people from the past who show up in Hope Valley. Each one tests Nathan in a different way: 1) that comes back, that comes to light, that moves the investigation forward with Lucas; 2) that comes into Nathan’s life that he’s never met before but Elizabeth has a past with and it draws them closer together; 3) another comes in that is a big one for Nathan to meet; this person shares a connection with Elizabeth and Nathan together and it’s important that Nathan is liked by this person.
  • Nathan has really let himself open up to the community. He’s just has found a really lovely home in Hope Valley. And, that only grows for him this season.

What did Derek Thompson share with Heart to Hearties Admin?

  • The birthday party was to push Elizabeth a little bit more than she might be comfortable with. Rosemary pounced on the idea. It landed Nathan and Elizabeth together in a new place.
  • There will be more opportunity for Mei and Mike to dig into both of their pasts.
  • Gowen working with the trees keeps his connection to Abigail.
  • The mystery will become a central story coming up. Bill and Rosemary have a keen interest in it.
  • Nathan and Little Jack will have a really interesting moment where they both come to terms in relation to where they are with Elizabeth. This might be one of Derek’s favorite moments in the season.
  • They’re both potentially becoming family and that’s big shoes for Nathan to step into.
  • Don’t expect it to be any love triangle or anything like that. It’s more of there’s just history there. Let Elizabeth and Nathan do what they will and then how are they going to react.
  • Complicated is the word for the next few episodes.
  • There’s no shortage of stuff for Lucas, Elizabeth and Nathan this season.
  • Edwin is involved in the plot? – 2 on a scale of 1 to 10. (10 being shady) Edwin is opportunistic.
  • Expect red herrings with the mystery. Plenty of gasps.
  • Hargraves will not get his due this season.
  • Nathan’s late night need for eggs will begin to raise eyes around town. – classified

What did Allie Devereaux share with Heart to Hearties Admin?

  • There’s more to come with Toby and his dilemma.
  • We’ll see Joseph’s brother come to town.
  • Lucas wants the case to stay closed. It was traumatic. He wants it to be settled.
  • The whole episode is all about taking steps forward. This includes Lucas getting back into the swing of things, healing. The investigation, Toby, etc. (Nathan and Elizabeth weren’t mentioned.)
  • New character coming. Fun challenge for Lucas (Mayor of Benson Hills).
  • This season has moments of Lucas and Elizabeth developing their friendship.
  • Edwin is Lucas’ pull back to the big city (goes back to the opportunist idea.)
  • Elizabeth and Nathan are trying to figure out what their new normal is.
  • Expect to be surprised by Jeanette. The unexpected.
  • Henry will become a regular churchgoer (his spirituality and faith in mind).
  • Rosemary finds herself in peril. (classified)
  • You will hear more about Jacob Canfield.
  • Lucas knows more than he’s letting on (hit and miss). (Me: He doesn’t remember, but will.)
  • Mike and Mei are going to the chapel. (Classified. Wedding bells are ringing, but for who…)

What did Elizabeth Stewart share with Heart to Hearties Admin?

  • Right now, officially nothing is happening with Nathan and Elizabeth and Bill is empathizing with Nathan.
  • We should feel great for Nathan. He is stepping up. He is now doing everything he can to create the future he wants.
  • Lucas asked Elizabeth to help (she’s the town teacher.) She may have decided to insert herself a bit more than needed to.
  • We haven’t seen the last of Jeanette.
  • There are still a lot of questions about Lucas’ past. Elizabeth is not threatened by Jeanette. She didn’t give the rise that Jeanette was hoping for.
  • Elizabeth feels less guilty about the breakup learning about Lucas’ past and feeling they weren’t meant to be.
  • LJ is growing and it allows Elizabeth to grow as a mom too.
  • They knew they wanted Nathan and Elizabeth to plant eggs and for Elizabeth to stumble into his arms.
  • Nathan is now ready to go for it. Life is short and he knows what he wants. At the same time he’s proclaimed his love before and Elizabeth wasn’t ready and he was very hurt by that. He’s making his intentions clear, but he’s letting her take the lead.
  • Jack and Elizabeth’s love was young and uncomplicated. This one is different. There’s children to consider, personal histories to overcome.
  • We will be tortured a little longer. (speaking of the interruptions.
  • They are public figures in town. There are children at stake. They really have to be sure this time.
  • It’s not going to be a smooth path, but we said the stars are aligning. There is a certain level of destiny here.
  • Hickam is not bringing Mei home to meet his mom.
  • Clay Pike will not be exonerated due to finger prints thanks to our own Annie Oakley.
  • The promised kiss will not happen under the arch.
  • Jeanettle did not break off the engagement with Lucas.
  • Rum runners are going to show up in Hope Valley – classified.
  • Lucas’ shooter has not appeared on screen yet.

What did Beth Stewart share with Sarah and Julie of the Suspenders Unbuttoned Podcast?

  • next…

What did the guys of Hope Valley share with Deidre Behar?

  • Lucas sees the resort as a way to boost the economy for the current and future generation.
  • The support between the guys will continue to be there for each other.
  • Hickam and Mei are full steam ahead. But, we know that the course of true love never did run smooth. It may not all go smoothly.
  • We have not seen the last of Jeanette. The drama is currently at about 40%.
  • Everyone has a tipping point. We see that with Lucas. Some of it has to do with Lee and Rosemary. It’s always darkest before the dawn.
  • Why should we turn into the remainder of the season? chinese food, always family over everything. (other things were general and repeat).

What did Allie Deveraux share with Sarah and Julie on Suspenders Unbuttoned Podcast?

  • What do we already not know from previous interviews?
  • There’s a wedding unlike we’ve ever seen in Hope Valley.
  • Easter egg – Hay bale
  • Elizabeth and Henry have had a long-standing relationship. They have witnessed their relationship evolve and grow, and the return of the character Mr. Higgins, who has a complex history with Henry and Elizabeth, adds to the intrigue.
  • Banana bread may come back.

What did Paul Redford tell the Heart to Hearties admin.?

  • Lucas is experiencing trauma.
  • The lip staring was not slowed down and Paul says they earned it.
  • Henry will help persuade Joseph to forgive his brother – sort of.
  • There was no umbrella recovered at the scene.
  • Grief/Gratitute Journal entry – A way for her to convey her feelings for Jack and Nathan. Elizabeth is not in mourning anymore. She’s embracing life.
  • Bringing back Tom was a way to show Elizabeth’s peace and joy. She’s having good memories.
  • Nathan knows what it’s like to be in Jack’s shadow. There will be another conversation about what Elizabeth said to Nathan in Season 8. “We really owe a lot more.” It’s not just about talking. You have to experience some of that as well.
  • We are going to see Clayton Pike going forward. His mom is seeing things from her point of view.
  • Nathan is putting himself at risk by bringing Clayton Pike to Hope Valley, but he’s doing for friends he can trust. He has his own questions, but can only go so far.
  • Faith and Lily’s outcome – classified
  • Some of it we can’t all do this season (Faith and Tom).
  • You haven’t seen the last of Montague.
  • You haven’t seen Lucas hit his low point yet.
  • Lucas does trust Elizabeth to have made the right decision. Also, he can trust Nathan. Lucas doesn’t have more hopes for getting back with Elizabeth.
  • Elizabeth knew Lucas needed a bigger stage.
  • The writers knew Lucas needed bigger things. A saloon owner in Hope Valley is not enough for him.
  • First, Lucas has to respond to the calling. His grand mission. Not just working for Hope Valley or one beloved.
  • Paul is personally looking forward to the reactions of episode 8. The redemption storyline as well and the festival.
  • Mr. Sweeny is an Easter egg. A callback to a former Mr. Sweeny.
  • Elizabeth saw how Jack had conflicts with Tom. She is a bit protective, but there are several reasons why she gave the line about Nathan not being too much of a Mountie.
  • Stay tuned…will Tom offer his blessing to Nathan and Elizabeth.
  • The clouds are parting for Nathan and Elizabeth…the grief, drama, guilt. There’s a lot more room for music.
  • Joseph and Jacob’s story really is at the center of E8.
  • Safe to be Casimir Shaw on the board. (rum runner)
  • In Bill’s mind, Montague is not cleared. Rosemary and Bill aren’t necessarily on the same page.

What did our showrunner and writers have to share with Heart to Hearties?

  • We are now on the climb of the roller coaster. We didn’t get too deep into Lucas’ storyline in E6. Everything is going to now start building. Keep your seatbelts on.
  • Starting on an innocent scene set them up for what was to come. Gentle scenes before the shocker.
  • Subtle moment between Elizabeth, Nathan, and Jack. He asks her out. The way he did it is his style. He’s not showy about it. Just opening a door is all that is required. The invite gets derailed. Life is perfect and then it’s not. A big grand gesture is not his style. He’s the lowkey guy.
  • Hope Valley is the place for second changes so there is hope for Joseph.
  • Someone is spreading rumors that Lucas is not to be trusted.
  • The casting tapes are shared with all of the writers.
  • Anna is there because she represents Elizabeth younger experience. It forces Elizabeth to think about how she handled it last time. It’s not just about her now, but about the next generation of women. Anna won’t be back in S11.
  • A predator is all about power. Him suggestion a name change of the school really showcased this.
  • Nathan needs to be upset and yet supportive. Not overstepping so that Elizabeth can be her own hero. His best version was just being there listening. (in the church scene E6). He “believed” her. Hence, the title of the episode.
  • The nudge, the shoulder was scripted. Nathan understands her. He understood in that moment her fragility and that’s what we love about Nathan. He understands what she needs in that moment and waits for her cue. He gives her exactly what she needs and no more. Anything more would have been inappropriate.
  • The reverse shot was pure director’s choice.
  • Mike did not propose to Mei in the last episode.
  • Tom coming to town is a bit of an obstacle for Nathan. He serves as the sort of the surrogate approver of the relationship between Nathan and Elizabeth. Nathan is confident. It’s wonderful to see.
  • Higgins will be prosecuted, but we won’t see it.
  • Tom and Faith will have a spark – little spark.
  • Christopher does not fit into Lucas’ shooting.
  • Jacob was sweet on Minnie – that’s classified.

What did Allie Devereaux have to share with the Heartie Admins?

  • Taking the time to get things right was a reminder for everyone watching. It’s going slow because there is a lot to savor and so that we can have some of these really deep moments with Nathan and Elizabeth.
  • There are a lot of great moments coming up. Allie hopes everyone will feel it’s been worth the wait. The season is not done, yet.
  • We will find out what happens with Faith and Lily in episode 10.
  • Lucas feels really strongly about protecting the town, but he’s also concerned about his own safety. This is where those big emotions are coming from.
  • We’ve “seen” the person before that is looking through the binoculars.
  • All of the pieces that Rosemary and Bill have are important. They may not all fit together yet and it will be explained.
  • Nathan knows all of Dylan’s past and how he has treated Allie and he just wants to protect her. He knows the heartbreak is coming.
  • He is willing to take the hurt so that she doesn’t have to go through it.
  • Lucas’ plans will change as things come together and he remembers things. He’ll make some really interesting decisions. Particulary in 10 and 11.
  • There is a romantic “interuptus” with the window scene.
  • We’ll know Dylan’s story very soon.
  • Allie and a Flo interaction was wanted but had to cut it for time.
  • There is more to the pony and hazelnut story. Inadvertent hit.
  • Jeanette will not be the only one interested in funding the resort. Hittish.

What did Amanda Wong have to share with Sarah and Julie on the Suspenders Unbuttoned Podcast?

  • We will hear about Mei’s upbringing a little bit more.
  • People are coming to town in 10.
  • Action-packed. A lot happens the last few episodes.
  • People are also coming in 12.
  • There will be two letters.
  • Mei and Mike did decide they want to spend the rest of their lives together.
  • They’ll have some problems ahead.
  • Mei’s brother at least comes up.

What did Derek Thompson have to share with Sarah and Julie on the Suspenders Unbuttoned Podcast?

  • It was Erin’s idea to add the confetti to her hair.
  • Confetti star comes back later.
  • The birthday card was a way to show how Elizabeth is feeling about Nathan. It was a way to make it simple, like a kid would.
  • Part of the tale of the season is the pressure for them to get it “just right.”
  • S12 – first day of school; callback to season 1, something they say.
  • Something comes to town. What we build to in the season happens in 11. It’s an ending to remember.
  • Formula lately: Romantic in E12, and then a twist.

What did …?

    • Why the slow burn? “One, I think they don’t know for sure how the other feels, so they’re kind of tiptoeing. They also want to be respectful of [Elizabeth’s ex-fiancé] Lucas, and then I think they’re both single parents and they really care about how Allie and Little Jack might respond to something like this.”
    • “I think that Elizabeth is finally at a point in her life where she really knows who she is and what she wants, and she’s just kind of crossing her fingers that Nathan still has feelings for her,” Krakow explained, adding that she does “believe” the duo are “endgame.”
    • “The good news is that the foursome have had a strong relationship from the start, and Jack in particular could only benefit from having Nathan in his life.” Exploring Jack’s relationship with Nathan “going to be really tender and special to see.”
