End of Season 11 Interviews –
- “We’re not going to pretend that conversation never happened, so we will come back in Season 12 and address it,” teases Krakow. “Our scripts are still in flux as we’re moving toward filming. I will leave it at that. It’s a juicy enough cliffhanger on its own.” TV Insider
- For Nathan, it’s very much, “Oh great, at the worst possible time again,” McGarry says, referring to the multiple interruptions that the couple has dealt with. “It could have been comical. Every time you go in for a kiss, it’s like ‘Grant!’ ‘What?’ Then he drops the bomb that this is about Jack. And then all of a sudden, especially after having that conversation that they had earlier and now Jack’s memory is back and we don’t know why or what’s going to happen, I think there’s a bit of fear that maybe he’ll lose what he holds dear.” TV Insider
- Krakow says Elizabeth’s “first and foremost [in] shock, but she turns to the person that she loves and trusts most in that moment to share that emotion because who could have predicted that Hargraves would be coming to talk to her about that at all, but about that?” TV Insider
- That comes after they’ve revealed to the town that they’re together, as everyone saw Mei and Mike off after their wedding. “I think they found a real comfortability together, too. I just remember even the body language, it just seemed very easy together with the two of them only to be halted by Hargraves,” McGarry notes. TV Insider
- “That leads right into the early problems of what’s going to happen in Season 12,” the Hallmark star said. “Finally they get to the honeymoon phase — I don’t want to say it’s cut short because we’re still going to see it blossom — but there’s definitely a big boulder thrown right in their way in the last couple seconds of Season 11. We’ll see how Elizabeth takes it, where she stands with it all.” – McGarry TV Guide
- Sturman: There will always be hurdles and challenging situations as people grow closer and fall in love and take those next steps. They found each other and now it’s about, how do you face challenges together going forward — life throws you challenges, but watching those challenges pull them together as they face the future together. TV Guide
- Season 12 will bring all sorts of firsts for Elizabeth and Nathan as they navigate their relationship. They’ve known each other for such a long time so they are only growing stronger as they face challenges now as a unit. We’re excited to really savor the little moments of their relationship, as they grow closer, and navigate those early days of finding love — especially as we know so many fans have been waiting so long to see them together. TV Guide
- It was a story about widows and for Little Jack, as he’s hitting these milestones growing up, how does Elizabeth keep Jack alive for Little Jack and hold his memory and the complexity of that when she’s in a new relationship? TV Guide
- Sturman: The themes of Season 12 will focus on romance as we follow Elizabeth and Nathan’s relationship that has been years in the making. There are also a few major milestones that happen in Season 12: Little Jack would be starting school and some of our main students are graduating. Telling stories about these big moments let us touch on themes of facing the future, overcoming fears, and following your true path to happiness, which is, of course, Elizabeth’s story — following her heart. TV Guide
- [Nathan and Elizabeth] are on a journey to get closer, people should not worry. TV Guide
- Season 12 picks right up from the last scene. TV Guide
- McGarry: What Episode 12 offers the fans is a glimpse into the future of what this relationship is going to be. There’s a certain ease that they both have once this pent-up frustration, emotion, and friction is released. They finally clear all that up and fall into each other’s arms. Because they’ve built their relationship early on trust, love, and friendship, it really falls into this easy partnership. They get to show their love and they don’t have to hide behind it and be awkward that they’re a couple. They both deal with the hardships of life together and they have each other’s backs. That’s all there and rooted, and I’m sure we’ll see when they disagree and how that goes forward like any strong relationship, but it’s nice that there’s no longer this confusion. And the misunderstandings are all cleared up. They know where they stand with each other and it can only go deeper at this time. TV Guide
- McGarry: We’re not going to destroy anything that has been built in Season 11. I think we’re only going to strengthen it. It’s a TV show and the characters are going to be tested. But Nathan and Elizabeth are now a strong partnership that they’re going to go through a lot of these trials together and it’s only going to strengthen this newfound relationship that they have. But yeah, they are a pair now. They are a unit. We’ll see what they look like on the other end or how they come out. TV Guide
