Love Finds You Is the Fall Rom-Com Surprise You Didn’t See Coming

2–3 minutes

Let’s get one thing out of the way first: Love Finds You, premiering this Saturday on Hallmark, is not the coziest fall movie on the schedule. But it might just be the most fun.

The Slow Burn Done Right

This is an annoyed-to-lovers story, and it takes its time getting there — which is exactly why it works. Perhaps one of them catches feelings before the other does (I’m not telling you which), while the other is too busy chasing some idea of the “perfect guy” to notice the right one is standing right in front of them. Watching both of them finally catch up to what’s obvious to everyone else? That’s the good stuff.

Chemistry That Doesn’t Quit

Chris McNally and Aimeé Teegarden have the kind of on-screen chemistry you can’t manufacture. The banter is sharp, fast, and — this is the part that matters — it goes both ways. Neither of them is coasting while the other does the work. He’s charming, she’s perky, they push back on each other constantly, and by the halfway mark you’re fully invested in seeing them land the plane (or in this case…park the truck).

A Supporting Cast That Steals Scenes

Here’s the real surprise: the supporting cast might be one of the best parts of this movie. They’re funny, they feel real, and when a moment tips into slightly-too-much territory, the movie just winks at you and leans into it anyway. It works.

Wait — Is This Even a Fall Movie?

Honest answer: sort of. You’ll get the foliage, the sweaters, the pumpkins on a porch somewhere. What you won’t get is a festival, an apple orchard, or any plot point that could only happen in October. And I actually think that’s the right call to kick off the fall slate — it eases you in with romance first, seasonal trimmings second.

More Than a Love Story

The best part isn’t even the romance — it’s that neither lead is waiting around for the other to complete them. She’s got her own goals, her own business decisions to make. He gives up something that actually matters to help her. And when she finally chooses right, it doesn’t feel rushed — it feels earned. Stay through the end, too, because there’s a secondary couple who quietly shows up the last few minutes.

So, Should You Watch It?

I won’t promise this makes my annual fall rewatch rotation. But I will promise that the next time it’s on, I’m not changing the channel — there’s too much packed into the chemistry and comedy here to catch it all in one sitting.

Love Finds You premieres Saturday at 8/7c on Hallmark, and streams the next day on Hallmark+. And, be looking for my interview with Chris and Aimeé on YouTube and your favorite podcast platforms.
