I’m Stephanie Long, founder of Heart In Motion Media — an entertainment outlet built on conversations with the people who make the stories worth watching.
That means 160+ interviews with actors, writers, directors, and producers across film and television — Hallmark, Great American Family, Netflix, Amazon Prime, USA Network, Lifetime, and independent productions — alongside news coverage, episode analysis, and on-location reporting.
The thing I care about is getting past the promo cycle. Most press interviews run on a clock and a list of approved talking points, and everyone involved knows it. I’d rather ask about the choices — why a scene was built that way, what almost didn’t work, what a performer was actually solving for. Those conversations are better for the audience, and in my experience the talent prefers them too.
I spent many years as an educator before this. It turns out those years were good preparation — asking a real question and then actually listening to the answer is most of the job.
Heart In Motion started as a place to document the things I love — travel, music, entertainment. The third post I ever made on Instagram was about Kevin McGarry, and the account took off from there. The podcast came later, in February 2025, when the designers behind the scenes of When Calls the Heart agreed to answer questions for the When Calls the Heart Whiteboard. Barbara Gregusova asked if we could do it on video instead. That was the first interview, and I haven’t stopped since.
These stories stay with people long after the credits roll, and the people who make them deserve to be asked good questions about how they make the magic happen.
